Sean Horan

Biography

Sean completed his degree in Exercise Science at Griffith University (1998) and then a Master of Physiotherapy at Griffith University (2001). He is currently undertaking his PhD at Griffith University investigating the swing kinematics of elite golfers and the relationship to common golf injuries. It is envisaged that this research will reveal factors which may assist in the prevention of golf injuries, and the improvement in swing mechanics from a physical perspective.

Sean has worked as a physiotherapist in a variety of settings including private practice, for various sporting teams (including the British Olympic Team and the Australian Baseball Academy), and as a sessional lecturer for the School of Physiotherapy and Exercise Science, Griffith University. Sean has also consulted for the ALPG at the ANZ Ladies Masters; and the Australian PGA at various events such as the Queensland PGA at Emerald Lakes and  trainee education sessions.

His career has taken him across the globe to the United Kingdom, where he worked in a busy private clinic working with numerous amateur and professional golfers. Sean has been actively involved in Golf for the past 15 years as a player and physiotherapist. Sean's qualifications give him a broad range of skills which enable him to assist golfers of all levels.

Sean has up to date, evidenced based experience in: Biomechanical Analysis of the Golf Swing, Injury Prevention and Injury Rehabilitation for Golfers and Strength and Conditioning for Golfers.

 
 

Kerrie Evans

Biography

Kerrie is a manipulative physiotherapist with a special interest in the assessment and treatment of golf specific injuries. Kerrie has completed a Masters degree in Manipulative Physiotherapy and has also completed her PhD investigating the physical aspects of the golfer, and the golf swing. Kerrie was recently awarded a specialist physiotherapy title in the area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, after successfully passing a rigorous examination process. Kerrie is one of only a handful of physios in Australia to receive this title.

The focus of Kerrie's research over the last seven years has been low back pain amongst golfers and has involved tour professionals, trainee professionals as well as amateurs and has resulted in several publications in international physiotherapy and sports science journals.

Kerrie is also a lecturer at Griffith University for the musculoskeletal program in the School of Physiotherapy. She also regularly lectures for other organisations including the PGA of Australia and the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

Kerrie has up to date, evidenced based experience in: Physical assessment and screening of Golfers, Injury Prevention and Injury Rehabilitation for Golfers and Biomechanical Analysis of the Golf Swing.
